Week Thirty Five (8 Months)

Age today: 35 weeks

Age Being Posted: Weeks 34-35

Date: August 18 - 24

Diaper Size: 2 or Medium

Clothing Size: 3-6, 6, 6-9

Photo of the Week: 8 Months

Milestones: Nothing new this week. See milestones page to see milestones already passed

Development: So while you have been army crawling for a while now you are now getting up on your hands and knees. Sometimes you rock back and forth other times you end up going backwards but you are almost crawling for real! It's adorable. I can't believe how big you are now.

Concerns: None

Eating Habits: Breastmilk every 3 hours, rice cereal, fruit, veggies, and/or meat 4 times a day

Foods Tried: Meat

Sleeping Habits: 2 Naps at 8:40am and 1pm, asleep for the night at 7pm with a quick waking at 11 for a dream feed

Health: Healthy

Special Moments-
Best: Taking you to calacali and going to see the horses! You loved them!
Worst: When the horse almost bite you!

Other Observations/Activities: Still as active as ever! You spend most of your time trying to squirm out of mom's hold. Little stinker! You love going outside and crawling around. You love animals and smiling at people in elevators. And everyone comments all the time about how easy going you are. Today we were at your grandparents and your uncle was talking about some kid who cried a lot and she said, Kids cry. You think kids don't because Emily doesn't but kids cry. And it's so true... but you just don't. You complain, don't get me wrong, but crying crying. Hardly ever. You smile and laugh and scream and talk. I couldn't have asked for a better daughter.

Week Thirty Four

Age today: 34 weeks

Age Being Posted: Weeks 33-34

Date: August 11 -17

Diaper Size: 2 or Medium

Clothing Size: 3-6, 6, 6-9

Milestones: Nothing new this week. See milestones page to see milestones already passed

Development: Another week where you just won't stop moving! It's pretty impressive the amount of activity you do. You want this. You want that. You squirm and flip and crawl and try to stand even... which you can't do yet but I wouldn't be surprised if that was just around the corner

Concerns: None

Eating Habits: Breastmilk every 2 hours, rice cereal, fruit, veggies, and/or meat 4 times a day

Foods Tried: Peas, Green beans

Sleeping Habits: Well the routine is still off. For the first part of the week you woke between 1-3am to eat and then went again until 7... well I am NOT going back to waking up in the middle of the night but because you are so low on the percentile chart I have decided to start a dream feed and I go in at 10:40 to feed you which sustains you until 7am the next morning. Naps are still good... but you will only take 2 and you honestly need 3.

Health: Healthy

Special Moments-
Best: You make this adorable face when you are angry. You scrunch up your lips and breath in and out really hard. It's hilarious! I need to get a video of it!
Worst: I was dead set against feeding you one night--thinking you would just go back to sleep. Well we stayed up from 1-3am and then mom gave in. I THOUGHT you weren't hungry and you were just used to waking up and eating. Silly me!

Other Observations/Activities:This week we stayed home! And although I love the beach it was nice to get back home and just be with you. Sometimes you need a vacation from the vacation. We hang out around the house. You crawl around and try and lick the floor... which is also pretty funny. Though whats even funnier is when I say "EM! NO!" you lift up your head and look at me like "What? it takes so good!". Super funny. We set up a pool in our "backyard" and you swam in it. God you love the water!

Week Thirty Three

Age today: 33 weeks

Age Being Posted: Weeks 32-33

Date: August 4 - 10

Diaper Size: 2 or Medium

Clothing Size: 3-6, 6, 6-9

Photo of the Week:With Tia Dani

Milestones: Nothing new this week. See milestones page to see milestones already passed

Development: You do not stop moving, not for even a second. It's impossible to change your diaper and put on your clothes. I understand why you sleep such much now, you have to be exhausted from all that moving. I'm exhausted just from watching it! You have two cousins one crazy one and another one who is more calm and laid back. Dadas and I always joke now saying "We have an Annie Jo! Not a Tarah Jayne!" and it is soooo true.

Concerns: None. I feel like you've gained like 8 lbs. We'll see next week!

Eating Habits: Breastmilk every 2 hours, rice cereal, fruit, veggies, and/or meat 4 times a day

Foods Tried: Didn't introduce any new foods this week

Sleeping Habits:Since we went on vacation your schedule has been a little messed up but hopefully once we're home we'll fix it. You wake up once at night now between 10pm-2am. I never know. But since you are so much more active here at the beach I go ahead an feed you. Once we're home we'll get back in our routine again.

Health: Healthy

Special Moments-
Best:(Wasn't here but dadas told me and it sounded like the best!) You were in the oceans with dadas catching some waves : ) and then he sat you down at the very end of the beach where the water would sometimes touch you and you played in the sand and finally you grabbed it all and dumped it all over your face! It probably wasn't the best for dadas but it was super funny for mamas!
Worst: We tried putting sunscreen on and you moved and mom stuck it right in your eye! Wow... how you cried.. Sorry about that!

Other Observations/Activities: All week we were at the beach! It was a whole lot of fun but the beach with a 7 month old is a whole lot more work than without one! The sunscreen and the hats and the changing and especially since you are breastfeed (and BFing in public...not my thing) its a sort of constant coming and going. But still so much fun. We played in the sand and got in the ocean. You flirted with the boys playing sand volleyball.  You got dadas a lot of attention from girls thinking you were oh so cute. You took walks with your grandparents and splashed around in the pool. You ate sand and drank salt water. And oh my did you nap! You were so tired from all the activity you took LONG naps. And mom was so tired that she took naps with you! Can't wait for next years trip with you!

Week Thirty Two

Age today: 32 weeks

Age Being Posted: Weeks 31-32

Date: July 28 - August 3

Diaper Size: 2 or Medium

Clothing Size: 3-6, 6, first time wearing 6-9 (possibly a really small 6-9?) Last time wearing 3 month clothes! FINALLY!!

Photo of the Week:With Bunny Bear!

Size: Weight: 13lbs4oz

Milestones: Pull self to a standing from sitting

Development: Little Em you are not so little anymore. Okay, so you are, but not in development just in size : ) You are doing everything early it seems so I highly doubt there is anything wrong with you at all. You are just SO active, you don't stop all day. Sometimes I wonder if when I put you down for a nap you even sleep! You've began pulling yourself up from a sitting when you are in your crib! I honestly couldn't believe it. It's just such a big kid thing! I'm amazed at how fast your growing and doing new things. I can already see I will have my hands full for awhile!

Concerns:Weight gain still BUT she did gain enough according to the Kellymom site. The low end (50g/week) but it was good enough for the doctor!

Eating Habits: Breastmilk every 2 hours (per recommendation so she'll gain weight) , rice cereal, fruit, veggies, and/or meat 4 times a day

Foods Tried: Didn't introduce any new foods this week but doctor gave us a list of new foods for the month and I'm really excited about giving them!

Sleeping Habits: Our schedule is perfection now. Wake up 6:45, two naps of about one to two hours at 9 and 3 and one "blip" nap at 12. Bedtime at 7-7:30. Working perfectly!

Health: Healthy

Special Moments-
Best: The first day at the beach!
Worst: I sat you up in your crib while I was organizing some of your clothes to pack for the beach and you pulled yourself up (which actually is really amazing! but...) and you smiled at me. I clapped for you and you got too excited and fell backwards hitting your head on the cribs other side! After that you had quite a cry!

Other Observations/Activities: Lots of stuff this week! First of all I began "freaking out" because my milk supply seemed low. I couldn't understand it. The day before I had been pumping 2 oz and then the next I pumped .5oz! You nursed EVERY hour though you still slept all night ; ) and then I figured out why. I started my period after a year and a half of not having one! Yuck! But now things are back to normal and my supply is back up. We went and had you weighed at the doctor's office and you gained 200g which is on the low end but was good enough for the doctor. And Friday night we set out to the beach! The trip was ok but there was alot of fog and so we were a bit worried. We got there thought but the night was awful! You dent go right back to sleep. We were up until 4am! Saturday morning though was super fun! We went to the beach you played in the sand and the water and screamed from sheer excitement. You honestly had a blast! That night you went to sleep at 6:40 woke up at 5. Ate and played with dadas for maybe 20 minutes then went back to sleep until 9am! As for us the only difference was we went to sleep at 8!

Pictures From This Week:

While there are pictures at the beach I'll have to post those later because I only have my cell phone here and can't make any changes to the picture part from my phone... but here are the ones from the rest of week.
